Students will complete a directed drawing - with their own artist vision! We will use a halloween theme and create a masterpiece! Students are encouraged to interact with the teacher and other students. We will practice our motor skills, following directions, and speaking in a kind way toward our peers. Students will have the option to present or show their artwork in an informal way if they would like. No students are forced to share their work unless they choose to do so. Our peers are encouraged to give positive feedback and encouragement to each other when artwork is shared. Students will be directed in this simple drawing but all students are allowed and encouraged to use their own creativity and imagination to make their drawing to their liking. Our class is fun and social and is meant to encourage the love of art, improving our skills, working together with a group, and making friends. This is a great class for students that would like practice with presentation or speaking to a group. It is also a great way for a shy student to make friends in a safe and small environment that may feel more welcoming to them. The teacher will use a program to draw on the screen in real time while directing the students live. The drawing will be on a beginner and simple level. Students are made to feel comfortable no matter their drawing ability or level. During this 30 minute class students are encouraged to engage with the teacher and peers at any time. The teacher will sometimes ask simple questions to help students feel comfortable and welcome in class. Students are never forced to answer but invited for group conversation all class long. Student should bring paper of any kind and something to draw and color with.
