1 in-class hoursClass Experience
This class will teach how tell what is a larger quantity vs a smaller quantity. Both in math “>”/“<“, and many other real-world examples. This will include comparing numbers, amounts of common objects (i.e. number of chocolate chips in different cookies), weights of people and objects (i.e. cars vs trucks), heights, size, cost, and more! I will explain what it means for something to be “greater or less” and then I will present many examples that kids can relate to. I will ask questions to engage the students to ensure they understand the concepts. We will discuss many examples of how something can big greater or less than other things. These will include some trickier questions, for example: a ton of metal vs a ton of feathers. The class will be light hearted, fun, and should leave kids with a broad understanding of the concept as well as relateable examples so they are able to notice "greater and less than" in the world around them. Students should be able to sit and pay attention without being disruptive.
