Lesson Plan: Grammar Help - Private Class What will be taught? This class will help with learning about properly using words, constructing sentences, and avoiding grammatical errors. It is a personalized class that will focus on the student's personal needs. For better learning, I only teach one grammar point per class. I may suggest the student continue to take classes based on their understanding of the grammar point being taught. What topics can be taught in individual classes? Nouns: We'll explore what nouns are and how they name people, places, things, and ideas. Your child will learn to identify nouns in sentences and use them correctly in their writing. Verbs: Your child will discover the action words that make sentences come alive. They'll learn about different types of verbs, such as action verbs and linking verbs, and how they help convey meaning. Adjectives: We'll introduce adjectives as words that describe nouns and add detail to sentences. Your child will learn to recognize adjectives and use them to make their writing more colorful and descriptive. Sentence Structure: Your child will learn about the basic structure of sentences, including subjects and predicates. They'll practice constructing simple sentences and gain an understanding of how words come together to form meaningful expressions. Basic Punctuation: We'll introduce basic punctuation marks such as periods, question marks, and exclamation marks. Your child will learn how to use punctuation correctly to signal the end of a sentence, ask questions, and express excitement. Pronouns: Your child will learn that pronouns are words used in place of nouns to avoid repetition and make sentences flow smoothly. We'll explore common pronouns like "he," "she," "it," "they," and "we," and discuss when to use them in different contexts. Understanding pronouns will help your child communicate more clearly and effectively in both speaking and writing. How is my class structured? My class will be thoughtfully constructed to ensure an engaging and effective learning experience for your child. Here's how I'll structure the class: Warm-Up Activity (5 minutes): I'll start with a fun and interactive warm-up activity to get your child excited and ready to learn. This could be a catchy song, a quick game, or a stimulating question related to language. I'll also use this time to get to know my students. Introduction to the Topic (5 minutes): Each class will begin with a brief introduction to the grammar topic we'll be focusing on. We'll use simple language and engaging visuals to make the concept easy for your child to understand. Hands-On Learning (10 minutes): Your child will be ab able to engage in hands-on activities that reinforce the grammar concept being taught. This could involve sorting flashcards, completing worksheets, or participating in an interactive game. Interactive Lesson (5 minutes): We'll conduct an interactive lesson where your child can actively participate and practice using the grammar concept in context. This could include completing sentences, role-playing scenarios, or participating in a discussion. Storytime or Reading Activity (5 minutes): l incorporate storytime or a reading activity into each class to further reinforce the grammar concept in a real-world context. Your child will have the opportunity to hear the grammar concept being used naturally in a story or text. Wrap-Up and Review (5 minutes): I'll conclude each class with a wrap-up and review session where we'll recap what we've learned and celebrate your child's achievements. Your child will have the chance to ask questions, share their thoughts, and reflect on their learning. I'll also provide feedback for the student. Homework (optional): Depending on the pace and needs of the student, an optional homework assignment may be provided to reinforce learning and provide additional practice outside of class. By following this structured approach, we'll create a supportive and engaging learning environment where your child can develop a strong foundation in grammar while having fun and building confidence in their language skills. How will I teach? I'll explain things in simple ways and show examples. We'll do activities and games to practice using prepositions. If you have questions, feel free to ask me anytime! What's my teaching style? I'll be happy and excited to teach your child! I'll help them if they are not sure about something. We'll do fun activities together. I'll make learning fun! How much will learners get to interact with me? We'll talk together and do activities. They can ask questions and share their ideas. We'll play games and do activities together to learn the grammar being taught. I will use video clips from YouTube Kids for better understanding if we have the time. I use RAZ (kids a-z) worksheets and books in my classes, as well as self-created ones. Please note, that this is a personalized class. I am here to help your child get the help they need to excel.
