Grammar Fun! Ages 7-9 (Series 1)

This is a fun, flexible,  class that aims to help young learners improve their grammar skills in an engaging interactive way. Each week we will learn a new, grammar topic, and using a range of strategies and games, learners will practice spelling words or writing sentences that follow the rule. I will upload activities to the classroom each week for learners to print off and use in class  at their own pace.  

Who is this class for:
This class is based on the year 3 grammar standards set out in the English National Curriculum. It would be suitable for older learners requiring a re-cap or advanced younger learners.

Each week pre recorded videos will be uploaded to the classroom explaining the topic and the week's activities.
 
Week 1
Choosing nouns and pronouns for clarity.
Week 2
Adverbs using the 'ly' suffix
Week 3
Past tense 
Week 4
Subordinate clauses

This is a flexible course which means there and NO live meetings.  Learners are able to access lessons at a time that is convenient for them each week.  Students are can interact with the teacher every week via the Outschool classroom.  Each week , students can respond to lesson posts and interact will peers.


Each week learners will…

✏️ Watch a pre-recorded lesson explaining the week's topic.
✏️ Practice what they have learned using a variety of activities.
✏️Upload completed activities to the classroom 
✏️ Write a sentence in the classroom using the learned topic.
✏️ Improve their grammar skills

Learners can engage with class posts, tasks, and assignments which have been designed to reinforce the learning. 
Videos and lessons will be posted to the classroom by Monday each week. As this course is flexible, learners can complete each week's activities in their own time. Students can upload work and questions in the classroom to engage with the teacher and other learners. They can collaborate by responding to each others comments and take part in the weekly classroom activities.
