This six-week live course is designed to help students master the grammar skills that are essential for clear, confident writing. Rather than focusing on memorization, this class takes a practical, writing-centered approach to grammar. Each week, we will cover a different concept, such as complete sentences, commas, apostrophes, etc., that students need to succeed in any style of writing. Using an "I do, we do, you do" approach, each class will begin with a short lesson and examples, followed by guided group practice, and end with time for independent application and feedback. Students will interact through discussion and peer editing, as well as weekly practice.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of sentence structure and punctuation.

Teacher expertise and credentials
In addition to earning a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education, I have over six years of experience in teaching English Language Arts, with a strong focus on grammar and writing instruction. I spent four years as a high-school English teacher, where I taught a mix of college prep, honors, and AP courses. My lessons were designed to help students become clear, confident writers, through an improved understanding of sentence structure, punctuation, and commonly confused words.
For the past two years, I've worked as a one-on-one tutor, supporting students from elementary school through college. I meet each student where they're at, breaking down complex writing concepts into manageable chunks to improve both their confidence and understanding.
My experience includes teaching both in-person and virtually, and I'm very comfortable using interactive tools to keep students engaged online.
Whether your learner is new to many of the grammar concepts outlined in this course, or simply looking to polish the knowledge they already have, I'm excited to support their journey to becoming confident, capable communicators in any setting.
