Class Experience

US Grade 3
Hello Parents, This is 1-on-1 tutoring class. I will be utilizing Lumos Learning's Grade 3 Language Arts Literacy NJSLA Practice workbook. I have received permission from its publisher to use on Outschool and it’s available on Amazon. Please message me to confirm the ISBN number to ensure we have the same book for class. All the stories in the book stand alone and are independent from each other. I will be teaching reading comprehension and language arts to prepare for the 3rd grade standardized testing. If your child is in 3rd grade in NJ, the test will be end of April. If you are in another state, then this book will still be helpful for when he or she reaches 3rd grade. I'm flexible with the age of the student as long as they can read out loud and follow along as I teach. The book covers various topics that your student may have learned in school such as literature, informational text and many language arts topics. I've listed them below in the order they'll be taught in the book. Some topics may feel intimidating, but I promise to go at the learner's pace and be sure they also enjoy the class! The book is specifically designed to improve student achievement on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA). Students will perform their best on exams when they feel comfortable with the test content as well as the test format.
The students must have this book with them for this class so we can work together on the exercises. I love to interact with students one-on-one and see them gain confidence in their skills, ensure they feel welcome, understand the material at their own pace, and have fun while learning! It would be an honor to help your child score higher on standardized testing and overall classwork. Please message me on which day/time you'd like to book and if you'd like to book more than one class.

Hello Parents and Amazing Students,

My name is Mrs. Boradia and I'm super excited to teach your child! I'm focused on connecting with him or her fulfilling their individual needs. I have 2 children, ages 14 and 11. I have volunteered in their classrooms for 5 years in elementary school. I have read children's storybooks to the class and helped the kids with arts and crafts and projects. I love it and I'm happiest with kids! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the light in their eyes and make them happy. I love to color, draw, read poetry, and even learn about the weather patterns! I would love to teach students these various topics, but best of all, I enjoy tutoring English. I love teaching elementary school topics and seeing children progress when they're very young. It provides a sense of accomplishment. As a child, I used to use my favorite reading books to trace their covers such as The Berenstain Bears. I started in elementary school as early as age 8, and still enjoy drawing very much. For the past year, I have been teaching Phonics and Grammar online and have tutored Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Vocabulary, and Spelling. I would love to continue teaching it on Outschool. I am also a substitute teacher at the middle school and elementary schools in my town. I loved learning about America's states and capitals. At a young age, I also have written poetry just for fun. I would love to show your children their hidden talents through writing and expressing their thoughts. Great teachers are patient, friendly, challenging, and make sure the kids are having fun! I love working with kids and watching them grow as students! As a parent, I strive to do what is best for my children. I hope to do the same for yours and look forward to working with you! Hope to see you in class soon!

EXPERIENCE
For 2 years, I have taught ESL online to children ages 3-12 on the VIPKid and QKids platforms. Those lessons included phonics, math, free talk, science, social studies, sight words, sentence patterns, and grammar. I am currently a substitute teacher. I also have the International Open Academy's 120 hour TESOL Certificate, as well as the 120 hour TEFL Fullcircle Certificate. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management and Education from Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey. I also held a nuclear medicine technologist license after I finished college and worked in a hospital for six years.
