This private tutoring class is designed for students seeking basic grammar rules, and I will address your child's individual academic needs. I will include a few activities to help him/her understand parts of speech such as nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. I will be sure to work closely to help them understand the differences and how to use each in a sentence. After I've checked for understanding, I'll include fun worksheet activities to work on in class such as choosing the correct tense, filling in the blanks, choosing the correct form of speech, or searching for grammar mistakes in sentences. I am TESOL and TEFL Certified and have been teaching young students English as a Second Language online for the past two years. I have worked as a nuclear medicine technologist before becoming a stay at home mom 12 years ago. I also hold a Bachelor’s in the Health Sciences and Management/Education, and now am also an elementary school substitute teacher in my township. Once enrolled, please print out the worksheets I have posted for your child. We will work on these activities together in class. You can post a message for me in the main classroom if you'd like me to focus more on a particular grammar topic. This communication is only between you and the teacher. Please let me know if your child is struggling with anything specific or would like to touch up on a specific skill. The topics covered will be common and collective nouns, proper and plural nouns, irregular plural nouns, pronouns, possessive and reflexive pronouns, verbs, subject-verb agreement, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions. Also, if you do not see a time slot that works for you, feel free to request a specific time and date as well and I will check if that works for me. My name is Mrs. Boradia and I'm super excited to teach your child! I'm focused on connecting with him or her fulfilling their individual needs. I have 2 children, ages 14 and 11. I have volunteered in their classrooms for 5 years in elementary school. I have read children's storybooks to the class and helped the kids with arts and crafts and projects. I love it and I'm happiest with kids! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the light in their eyes and make them happy. I love to color, draw, read poetry, and even learn about the weather patterns! I would love to teach students these various topics, but best of all, I enjoy tutoring English. I love teaching elementary school topics and seeing children progress when they're very young. It provides a sense of accomplishment. As a child, I used to use my favorite reading books to trace their covers such as The Berenstain Bears. I started in elementary school as early as age 8, and still enjoy drawing very much. For the past year, I have been teaching Phonics and Grammar online and have tutored Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Vocabulary, and Spelling. I would love to continue teaching it on Outschool. I am also a substitute teacher at the middle school and elementary schools in my town. I loved learning about America's states and capitals. At a young age, I also have written poetry just for fun. I would love to show your children their hidden talents through writing and expressing their thoughts. Great teachers are patient, friendly, challenging, and make sure the kids are having fun! I love working with kids and watching them grow as students! EXPERIENCE
For 2 years, I have taught ESL online to children ages 3-12 on the VIPKid and QKids platforms. Those lessons included phonics, math, free talk, science, social studies, sight words, sentence patterns, and grammar. I am currently a substitute teacher. I also have the International Open Academy's 120 hour TESOL Certificate, as well as the 120 hour TEFL Fullcircle Certificate. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management and Education from Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey. I also held a nuclear medicine technologist license after I finished college and worked in a hospital for six years.Reviews
