N/A. Students will likely be motivated to continue learning more about themselves and what types of educational settings work best for them. The goal is to find the best-fit university or college for them personally. This process can be stressful, but learning how to accomplish each task in the process brings a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.Assessment
N/A. Students will likely become more confident in the application process, be motivated to continue to research, and learn more about potential college destinations.Class Experience
The college application process for grade 12 is the beginning of a new chapter in a student's educational journey. It is an exciting process and can be stressful. Let me take the stress out of the situation and help build confidence in the student and their ability to apply to the best-fit college for them. This class will assist a student with finalizing the college application process by working directly with the learner. Students can tackle tricky portions of the application, learn how to complete the activities section, and understand what is expected for the essays. We will go over the necessary steps to complete and submit the application. Students can take a college interest survey, research college destinations, and review application timelines and student expectations. I have nearly 4 decades of experience in education, study skills, time management, and academic coaching. I was most recently the Director of University Guidance and designed and delivered a college prep program for grades 9-12 for an international IB school. I'm looking forward to helping individual students feel in charge and confident about their next educational step. My students love this style of college workshop as they feel in control and excited about the future! This course is 1-1 and can be taken multiple times as it will be individualized for the student's interests and needs.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of themselves and what they are looking for in a college education setting. They will have 1-1 support as they work on their applications and prepare them for submission.
