Class Experience

Does your learner struggle with traditional geometry instruction? Do they need a more structured, hands-on, and engaging approach to learning math?

This alternative Geometry course is designed for all learners, but especially for neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD, dyscalculia, 2e), gifted, and hands-on learners who benefit from step-by-step instruction, visual learning, and real-world applications. Instead of memorizing formulas, students will explore how geometry shapes the world around them—through architecture, art, nature, and engineering.

💡 What Makes This Course Different?
✅ Step-by-step structured instruction—Concepts are introduced clearly, ensuring a deep understanding before moving forward.
✅ Visual & hands-on learning—Perfect for students who learn best through diagrams, interactive models, and real-world applications.
✅ A structured yet flexible approach—Allows for different learning speeds while maintaining a clear path to mastery.
✅ Connections to the real world—Students explore geometry in architecture, science, nature, and digital design to see why it matters.
✅ Confidence-building & creative problem-solving—Mistakes are part of learning! We emphasize discovery and application rather than rote memorization.

📌 Who Should Take This Class?
Gifted & twice-exceptional (2e) learners who enjoy deep discussions, logical reasoning, and creative thinking.
Students with dyscalculia, ADHD, or ASD who need a structured but adaptable approach with visual explanations.
Hands-on & visual learners who struggle with abstract math and need practical applications to understand concepts.
Any student who wants to build confidence in geometry and explore it beyond textbooks!

📅 Meets 2x per week for 16 weeks
📐 No prior geometry knowledge required!
🎯 Includes interactive lessons, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world applications.
🚀 Final Project: Design a structure or artwork using geometry principles!

Learning Goals

To develop strong visualization skills and logical thinking through hands on geometry, engineering, and design applications.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a neurodivergent instructor and homeschooling mom experienced in applied mathematics, science, and foreign languages. I love to learn and to share what I have learned to others. I am also experienced in different learning approaches and strategies regardless of subject.

👩🏽‍🏫 My Expertise & Background
✅ Mathematics & STEM Specialist – I have a deep understanding of Algebra, Geometry, and Physics, which I teach using real-world applications, visual methods, and interactive problem-solving.
✅ Experience with Neurodivergent & Gifted Learners – I specialize in working with students with ASD, ADHD, dyscalculia, and 2e who may struggle with traditional math instruction. My methods reduce math anxiety, build confidence, and engage curiosity.
✅ Structured Yet Flexible Teaching Style – I provide step-by-step guided instruction with the flexibility to adapt based on each student’s unique pace and strengths.
✅ Hands-On, Visual, & Real-World Learning – I incorporate interactive tools, visual models, and practical applications to make math engaging and accessible.
✅ Supportive & Encouraging Learning Environment – I believe that mistakes are part of learning and focus on problem-solving strategies rather than rote memorization.

🎯 Why My Teaching Approach Works for Your Child
Traditional math instruction doesn’t work for every student. Some learners need:
✔ Step-by-step explanations with no rush to move ahead.
✔ Visual and hands-on learning, not just formulas in a textbook.
✔ A teacher who understands their learning challenges and strengths.
✔ A safe space to ask questions without fear of failure.
✔ A connection between math and real-world interests (science, business, technology, space, engineering).

That’s what I provide. My courses are designed for:
✔ Gifted students who crave depth & creative problem-solving.
✔ Neurodivergent students who need structure & flexibility.
✔ Hands-on learners who struggle with abstract math.
✔ Students who need a supportive teacher to guide them through challenges.
