In this hour class, students will learn how to add fractions. I will start the class by showing addition of fractions mathematically and with shapes. At home, students will be able to follow along with me as I write and talk! I will be using my iPad to share my screen and the lesson notes. Students will then have time to practice problems on their own through and we will share our solutions. At the end, we will play an interactive game for students to leave feeling confident in their progress!

Teacher expertise and credentials
HI! I am so excited you came to my bio! I am currently a high school math teacher that is certified in both math and special education! I have worked in integrated co-teaching classrooms for the last 6 years. This means I have worked with various types of learners among various types of levels!
This is currently my 9th year teaching. Despite the pandemic, I still absolutely love teaching students. There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone overcome a subject that they once considered themselves "bad at." I have tutored after school throughout all my years of teaching. I know that math is challenging to many students and 1:1 support is so important and necessary.
I like to present information in various ways to help students learn. Visuals are my THING. I learn by seeing and hearing and I understand that every student learns differently! I will not give up until students feel confident - even if it means taking a break and starting fresh.
I am a very active person and love to dance, workout, and try new things. I also am dairy free and am always trying new recipes to spice up my life!
