Join this fun-filled multi-day class to learn short musical theater style ballet, tap, and jazz dances to music from Disney's Frozen movies featuring Queen Elsa and her sister, Anna. Jazz, tap, and ballet shoes are optional, as students can dance barefoot or in tennis shoes. Students are encouraged to wear costumes to class as we warm up, learn some basic ballet, tap, and jazz moves, and put them into a short character dances. Be sure the costume doesn't impede your dancer's ability to dance or to see, as that is a dancing hazard. The class schedule will be as follows: Day 1- Ballet Day 2- Tap Day 3- Jazz I will teach by demonstration and verbal explanation and my pace will be geared to the kid's in each class. No previous dance experience needed to join the fun! Hope to see you in class!

Parental Guidance
Please ensure the following for safety during class:
-your child's costume isn't a tripping or choking hazard and that it does not impede their vision or hearing
-child has a dance space free of tripping hazards (a few square feet of space is sufficient)
-If your child will be wearing tap shoes, a small tap board (2' x 4' tap plywood) is recommended to protect your floors. Please do not use cardboard as this will slip out from under your dancer and is a hazzard.
It is also recommended that the students have a closed container of water easily accessible in the event they need a drink. Please also stay within sight range of your child in case they need technical assistance with muting and unmuting, etc.
Please advise teacher in advance of any special needs or any recent injuries that will limit movement.
Supply List
Students are encouraged to wear Frozen themed clothing to help get into character! Comfortable & appropriate clothing required for class. Recommended to pull hair up/back so that it is out of the face to make it easier to turn, etc. No jean shorts or pants, as this restricts movement for jazz. Recommended clothing: -leggings and form fitting shirt or top (baggy tops or bottoms make it hard to give corrections for upper body placement and difficult to tell if their legs are bent or straight); alternatively leotard and tights are best, but not required Optional: -jazz or ballet shoes of any style or color -tap shoes -Tap board (example: 2' x 4' plywood) to protect floors. Please do not use cardboard as it will slip out from under your dancer and is a hazard.

Teacher expertise and credentials
With over 24 years of experience as a dance instructor and over 36 years as a dancer (including training with the Houston Ballet and So-You-Think-You-Can-Dance choreographers), I am very careful to teach to the skill level appropriate for each dancer. Though caution is taken, accidental falls or other injuries can still happen. Teacher is not responsible for any injury during class.
Parents may wish to monitor class in case their child needs technical assistance muting or un-muting themselves or help adjusting volume. Please advise teacher in advance of any special needs or any recent injuries that will limit movement.
