In this class, students will play a Gimkit game to practice various concepts with fractions. We will solve questions that involve equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, identifying fractions on a number line, and improper fractions. The questions almost all use visuals to help students develop a concrete understanding of fractions. 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The game for this class will be hosted through Gimkit. Students will need to visit gimkit.com/join and enter the live code I will have for them during each class. Students do not need to have a Gimkit account to participate.
