Come and explore one of my favorite books of all time! This is a great story about a young boy who has always done the right thing .... until the 4th grade! See his character struggle with who he really is VS who he thinks he should be!

Follows Teacher-Created Curriculum
Students will participate in a read aloud and book discussion about the main character Suds and the choices he makes. We will try to relate it to our own lives and truly deep dive the character. We will explore his character arc and why he reacts the way he does to certain people and situations. Any student who is at the cusp of maturity can relate to this story.
4 lessons//4 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Chapters 1-5Introducing the novel and analyzing where the characters start in their journey.Week 2Lesson 2Chapters 6-9Deep dive Suds relationship with his family and friends.Week 3Lesson 3Chapters 10-12Analyze the conflict and discuss how Suds can move forward with his choices.Week 4Lesson 4Chapters 13-14Novel wrap up. Come together to analyze how Suds grew up in the 4th grade.
Students will fall in love with this book and hopefully want to explore more of Jerry Spinelli's books!
