Foundations of Multiplication
In this one-time class, we will set a strong foundation for multiplication. This includes concrete demonstrations, multiple ways to solve/check, and a brief application to story problems at the end.

Beginner Level
In this class, we will be learning the foundations of multiplication. This will be through using counters (or any object available), drawing pictures, and repeated addition. I will start by modeling the process, then inviting learners in to practice for themselves. I use a gradual release model so that learners have the opportunity to understand the process and make it their own. In this process, I love for learners to be interactive, answering questions and driving the direction of learning....
Learners will learn how to read and solve basic multiplication equations using counters, pictures, and repeated addition.
I am a certified educator with 4 years of classroom experience.
Learners should know how to count and add up to 50 proficiently.
For this class, please have something to write with, something to write on, and something to count with. This can be anything! Maybe chalk on the side walk, crayons and paper, or anything else you would like to use to show your work. For counters, you can use anything on hand. Maybe small candies, toy cars, or pebbles. You will need at least 25 of whatever you choose.
