Welcome to Fortnite: Creating and Coding 3D Games, a course that is perfect for kids in grades 6-10 who have a love for 3D video games and want to learn how to create them. In this course, we will provide a basic introduction to programming while exploring the endless possibilities of game design using Fortnite's Creative Mode. Develop 3D worlds, puzzles and problems and explore how to build 3D game worlds Introduction to 3D FPS design principle Demonstrate an understanding of variables as a concept in the context of a game Create a puzzle in a game environment that incorporates the use of variables Demonstrate an understanding of collision detection in the context of a game Create an obstacle course with challenges that incorporate the use of collision detection, events, and triggers Demonstrate an understanding of conditional statements in the context of a game Create a puzzle in a game environment that incorporates the use of conditional statements Demonstrate an understanding of functions in the context of a game Create a puzzle in a game environment that incorporates the use of functions Demonstrate an understanding of loops as a computer science concept Apply an understanding of loops as a means of musical composition in the context of a game.
All of our Teachers have at least 2 years teaching experience
We are using Fortnite Creative Mode. A cool program that will let your student start creating their very own Video Game. You will need to download Fortnite on a computer and create an account, we will be using this to learn coding and how to create games.
