In this 16-week class, the student will learn essential social skills and manners for navigating social situations with ease. The class will be divided into the following weeks and topics: Week 1: Introductions - Students will learn how to introduce themselves and others confidently and politely. Week 2: Making Requests - Students will learn how to make polite requests in different situations, such as in a store or at a friend's house. Week 3: Expressing Gratitude - Students will learn how to express gratitude in different contexts, such as receiving a gift or a compliment. Week 4: Active Listening - Students will learn the importance of active listening and how to use this skill in conversations. Week 5: Appropriate Body Language - Students will learn about body language and how it can affect communication. Week 6: Respectful Communication - Students will learn how to communicate respectfully, even when they disagree with others. Week 7: Phone and Texting Etiquette - Students will learn appropriate etiquette for phone calls and texting, including when it is and isn't appropriate to use a phone. Week 8: Dress Code - Students will learn about appropriate dress for different occasions, including formal events, interviews, and school. Week 9: Table Manners - Students will learn basic table manners for different settings, such as a formal dinner or a casual meal with friends. Week 10: Email Etiquette - Students will learn how to write and send professional and effective emails. Week 11: Networking - Students will learn how to network and make connections with others in a professional setting. Week 12: Gracious Hosting and Guesting - Students will learn how to be a gracious host or guest in different settings, such as at home or at a party. Week 13: Proactivity and how to best use it. Week 14: Conflict Resolution - Students will learn how to resolve conflicts in a positive and respectful way. Week 15: Public Speaking - Students will learn how to speak in front of a group with confidence and clarity. Week 16: Time Management - Students will learn effective time management strategies to help them balance school, work, and personal responsibilities. They will also learn how to prioritize tasks and set goals to maximize productivity and achieve success in various aspects of their lives. By the end of the class, learners will have developed a range of valuable social skills and manners that will help them navigate social situations with confidence and ease. They will have a better understanding of how to communicate respectfully, be culturally sensitive, and resolve conflicts in a positive way. This class is perfect for learners who want to build strong social skills and develop good manners that will benefit them in all areas of life. The flexible schedule (Recorded Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt. Time frame for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions. Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. Please note: This course requires no prior experience. *For parents/families who feel their child would benefit from this course, but their budget does not allow for it, I do offer a number of discounts for families of lower income.
