🚨Hi there! Due to a very busy teaching schedule teaching life skills on this platform, I am only able to teach this as a LIVE class once a month. 

Please note that while I do only offer this subject as a live class once a month, I do actually have a more in depth course with the same material covered offered in  live course in a FLEXIBLE LEARNING style course with more additional learning resources as well. This FLEX course is an asynchronous class with start dates available several times a month as well. 😊

✨In this unique class meant to help young people better understand the world of dating we will dive into the importance of setting boundaries, voicing their comfort levels, showing kindness, and making confident decisions as a young person.  I put forth every effort to utilize my outgoing and positive personality to create a warm and welcoming space for learners! 

😀 Kids will be invited to have a relaxed and informative conversation about some of the valuable life skills that can help teens and pre teens make confident decisions and feel more comfortable when entering the world of dating as a young person.

🧑‍🏫 Utilizing my interactive teaching style combined with  10 + years of mentoring / educating experience as a life skills and social & emotional intelligence educator I spent weeks conceptualizing, creating, editing, and perfecting this important class subject to ensure a warm & welcoming class for all types of young people who could benefit from knowing about these 3 Key Life Skills at a young age! 

✨Using these valuable life experiences along with my background in teaching Social & Emotional Learning classes here on Outschool I have carefully crafted the topics and strategies we will talk about in this live class. I call them the 3 key C's of dating. Comfort, Care, and Caution.

👍Drawing off of inspirations from my own real life experiences as a young person trying to navigate the wacky & wonderful world of dating, young people will get to hear first hand accounts of how these skills can really help! 

 😂I will share real life examples of triumphs when I used these valuable life skills, along with the hilariously epic fails of when I didn't….🤦‍♀️
as we chat about the complex world of going on dates as a young person.  

✅Throughout this educational dating class we will broach and discuss the 3 topics below:

COMFORT- Expressing your comfort levels :
✨The importance of effectively communicating what your boundaries are and respecting other’s boundaries too

CARE - The kinder ways to say..... No Way! :
✨A variety of ways to tell someone you are not feeling the same way they are. Plus, the kinds of care ways we can show others and ourselves.

 CAUTION - Using our Spidey Senses! :
✨ Using our Spidey senses to figure out if something doesn't feel quite right. How can we use them our Spidey Senses to identify “red flag” behaviors.

🫶The goal of this class is to help teen and pre-teen girls learn about some of the valuable life skills required to help them confidently and comfortably set boundaries , show kindness, and display caution when dating as a teen or pre-teen.

👾 We will also play a group game of trivia I have created myself while utilizing the chat box in our class zoom. This game is a helpful way to help kiddos reinforce what they have learned during our class time together.

*Families, please note that this class is not designed to teach any kind of self defense or sex education.
We will not be discussing intimacy, sex, or anything related to those topics in this class. 

*This class was created to allow teens and pre-teens to arm themselves with important life skills and knowledge they can choose to use to make confident decisions when it comes to things like......expressing their comfort levels, showing care, and exercising caution as a young person entering the world of dating.

*This class is intended to boost young people’s confidence, knowledge, and social and emotional skills in regards to dating.

*This class is intended to boost confidence about speaking up in regards to what they do AND don’t feel comfortable with.

*This is a secular class, meaning there will be no mention of religion or religious guidance of any kind. 

*There will be no sex education related topics mentioned or covered. While I will be a mention of topic of kissing while discussing boundaries in this class, I will not broach the topic of intimacy beyond kissing or any mention of sex in this class.
( If a student broaches the topic, I will divert back to our original conversation topic and send them a private message in the chat to remind them they can send me a private message after to class if they would like, and I can refer them to another teacher on outschool who does teach sex education.)

*This class in intended to be inclusive to all kinds of learners and will be a safe space for kids ask questions related to our specific topics during class or by sending me a private message after class. Kiddos are welcome to send me a Private Message after class with questions they may have not felt comfortable asking during the live class.  If they feel more comfortable asking questions after class by email, all they need to do is hit the Teacher Tab in the virtual classroom to send me a questions directly after class. :)

* As a friendly reminder, please know that all children that attend virtual classes on Outschool are required to turn on their camera to “check in” and verify they are an enrolled student before class can officially begin. 

* Due to the interactive nature of this class discussion, kids are asked to leave their cameras on as much as possible during this class to help keep a fun and engaging class discussion going during this class. I will be constantly asking questions, asking for feedback, and asking for thoughtful responses throughout this educational and relaxed class discussion.
