Description
Class Experience
We can learn executive function skills that help us in daily life. They are the basis for so many things we do! Executive function skills enable us to plan, organize, start, and follow through with all tasks. These include things we do for school and fun. In this flex class format, there are no live meetings. Each new week begins with a short paper-based self-assessment; as part of the workbook, with weekly lesson recordings and tasks to complete. Tasks include playing games, completing...

Donna Richmond holds a B.Sc. (H, Psy) and an M.A.Psych and is certified and licensed in many coaching modalities, including Erickson Coaching, Louise Hay Heal Your Life, MBSR, IIN Health Coaching, & others. As a former social worker, counsellor, and professional coach Donna has spent decades working with kids and youth. As a mom to four ranging in age from 14 - 27 yrs old, it's her goal and passion to share important life skills to help kids navigate this world in the most resilient ways possible.
There will be weekly tasks or challenges for learners to complete. Tasks include playing games, completing individualized projects, weekly self-assessments, and answering discussion questions.
Learners will be provided weekly workbook handouts that families can choose to print or have learners complete electronically.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Resources for this class include - Improve Memory (not an OS pre-approved resource) for one of the activities in week 6. Improve Memory is a free to access website. It does not require an account nor does it reqire users to share any personal infomation such as emails etc. YouTube - This class will utilize YouTube hosted videos (NLA created) embedded in the OS classroom to deliver weekly recoreded lesssons.
The curriculum, including workbook pages, used in this class are teacher-created.
