AUGUST 4TH IS A $1 SAMPLE CLASS! Coupon code: GONZAUG46 Get ready to experience a unique book club for any student looking to discover new books! To introduce students to books they normally wouldn't pick up on their own. To also allow students a space to recommend their favorite books to others.
I taught a variety of books in my Language Arts middle school classes, including Chains and The Hunger Games. While both books do contain violence, I think they each have important messages. I try to introduce books that I think students will enjoy because the ultimate goal is to get more kids reading! We will discuss the themes of the books I introduce, but again it is up to the student and parent as to whether or not these books are ones they want to pursue further. Any book I introduce is one I thought about extensively as to whether it would add value to the reader's experience.
**Pencil and paper; it is your choice as to whether or not you will be looking into acquiring the books but I hope to encourage students to utilize their local libraries if they wish to read any of the books. **A book of your choice! We may or may not have time to share, but I'd love for you to have one just in case.
Parents are encouraged to visit the Common Sense Media website to look up book content and other parent reviews to determine whether or not it is appropriate for your child. We will not be reading the book in its entirety, this class is meant to be a book club of sorts to introduce kids to books they might not normally pick up. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/
