Faces With Frida: An Art Apprentice Class

In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the famous artist Frida Kahlo. Following a brief summary of her life, we will examine some of her most famous pieces of art. Students will then learn how to draw face using guiding lines and proportions. 

The class is primarily lecture format but I will ask learners to collectively repeat important information (such as the artist's name) to help with memory. I will also ask the class open-ended questions about the art we look at, with answers being given on a volunteer basis. Most of the class will be guided art time, as we work together to complete a masterpiece. During that time, I will periodically check-in with each student to monitor their progress and give feedback.
