Exploring the Food Chain
What's included
1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
What eats that?! In this interactive class, students will learn about the process of a food chain. We will discuss the vocabulary words: predators and prey. We will look at photos of a variety of animals and complete a discussion where they belong on the food chain. Together, we will create examples of food chains for under the water and food chains in the forest. Students will complete their own food chain using the class handout, scissors, crayons/markers and tape. They will visually be able to see the process of how the food chain works in the environment. I encourage students to bring their own stuffed animals to class so we can have a discussion about their specific animal. Is their animal a predator or prey? What can eat their animal? What can their animal eat?
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge of food chains. Students will work on conversational skills by explaining their thought process for why an animal could be a predator or prey.
