Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 5
In this class your learner will learn all 4th grade Science Common core objectives that are typically covered in the Fall semester. Students will be provided with opportunities to apply their knowledge in various content areas. We will have fun as we dive into the various topics. Students will first be introduced to the material through video content that will be delivered weekly by the teacher. Students will then have the opportunity to participate in interactive activities to help fortify their new knowledge. Students will engage with both the teacher and each other through the use of interactive activities such as: ice breakers, vocabulary games, puzzles, projects, quizzes and brainstorming sessions. A few short written activities will be assigned, with the opportunity for students to receive written feedback. Please come and join us for this fun and enriching class! Week 1 Learning Goals: Safety in Science and Scientific Tools Week 2 Learning Goals: The Scientific Method Week 3 Learning Goals: Classifying Properties of Matter Week 4 Learning Goals: States of Matter Week 5 Learning Goals: Solutions Vs. Mixtures Week 6 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of Force Vs. Motion. Week 7 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of: Forms of energy: MELTS Week 8 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of: Properties of light Week 9 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of : Electricity Week 10 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of : Circuits and Transfer of Electricity Week 11 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of : Weather and Climate Week 12 Learning Goals: Students will learn and identify examples of: The Water Cycle The course will continue for 12 weeks. We will cover all Science content that is typically covered in the 5th Grade Science classroom including states of matter, principles of electricity, and all other content taught during the Fall Semester. This class then continues on to Part 2 which includes Spring Semester material such as weathering, erosion, and deposition. Other big themes include biomes, organisms and their relationships to their environments, and patters of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.
