This four day, weekly camp is purrfect for learning everything about cats from different types of cats, the history of wild cats, and caring for cats. Students will even have a chance to share their cat with the class.

Class Experience

Calling all cat lovers! This four day, one week cat camp covers everything you've always wanted to know about cats. We will study the different types of cats, caring for cats, the history of wild cats, and the science behind cats amazing physical abilities like landing on their feet. Students will even have a chance to share their own cat with the class if they want. 
Each day, I will present an engaging and fun Google slide presentation about cats which includes lots of adorable pictures and fun videos. I love student input, so the students will have lots chances to ask questions and add comments. After the presentation, we will either do a trivia game about the material or we will do a cat themed art project like drawing or coloring. 
Day One: The different types of cats
Day Two: History of Wild Cats
Day Three: Why do cats land on their feet
Day Four: Caring for Cats and Show and Share (bring your own cat to class)

Learning Goals

Students will learn about domestic cats. They will learn about the different types of cats and the history of wild cats. They will learn how domestic cats are similar and different from wild cats. They will learn about caring for cats. Students will practice their art skills through drawing and coloring projects. Students will practice their social skills through sharing their experiences with cats with the class.

Hi! My name is Lydia. I am a teacher and a librarian. I love learning, and I think learning should be fun. I like to laugh, sing, and play with little kids, and I love exploring strange and exciting topics with older learners. 

Throughout the course of my career, I have worked with kids of all ages - from children as young as three all the way up to high school seniors.I have worked as a classroom teacher, preschool teacher, school librarian, nanny, camp counselor, and volleyball coach. I have more than ten years experience working with kids. I have a Bachelor's degree in English. I also have a Master's degree in Library and Informational Sciences specializing in school library media. When I completed my Master's program, I receiving a teaching certificate in the state of Virginia.

Before my career in education, I worked as a newspaper reporter. I still love reading a daily newspaper, and I am very passionate about current events. 

I also love to cook and bake, and I'm really good at it. I even have my own wheat grinder and make my own bread. It's not all healthy, though. I can make some of the best tasting ice cream in the world! Check out some of my cooking classes, and I'll teach you all you need to know!
