Class Experience
Studies show that young people in high school and beginning careers lack the skill of estimation. This class will teach students how to critical think and estimate AND have fun learning an important math skill that they will need throughout life. Skills necessary for the class are being a good observer. We will begin with making estimates and then learn how to use information to help know how many items are in a photo or scene. 55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will use a curriculum by Steve Wyborney that Ive used successfully with my K-3 grade learners. It’s visually appealing to students and the way the lesson is presented is ideal for gaining the most engagement from all learners,
