This course is designed to walk students through how to use MLA format to cite outside sources in their writing. Students in high school are often asked to "use quotes"; this course will teach them how to do that in a straightforward way. In my experience teaching high school English, students view in-text citations as daunting. It doesn't have to be! We will go over the basics of quotes, paraphrasing, and plagiarism. We will apply in-text citations, ask questions, and practice the skills learned. Students will leave the course with a confidence in their citation ability and a printout of my MLA Citation Guide.
