This is an enrichment class for learners who are interested in making up their own trivia games. It is a very high energy, exciting class, with lots of social interaction, leadership, speaking & listening, strategy, solving puzzles & codes and learning how to think quickly under pressure.

In the "Harry Potter Trivia Edition" of Escape the Crazy House:
This is a trivia quiz related to the first 4 books Harry Potter: The Philosopher's Stone; The Chamber of Secrets; The prisoner of Azkaban; and The Goblet of Fire; (all questions & answers found on google). Each house (chosen by the sorting hat) will be given 3 questions (easy, medium & hard). The winning house gets to choose a game to play and the losing team will get locked in with moaning Myrtle and the first to leave class, without choosing a game!
If, however, no points are scored... everyone gets locked in and the remainder of the class is spent with "He who shall not be named! HA HA HA HA!"

In the *regular format:- Escape the Crazy House:
- Solving Puzzles and Codes, various styles of puzzles.

- They will learn how to strategise, getting to know team mates; working out how to socially interact with new people.

- Learning to the task at hand, supporting and encouraging each other.

- Social Interaction, working together and being courteous.

- How to think quickly under pressure, as the tasks will get harder

In the *regular format of Escape the Crazy House, the idea is that when they meet each week, they will use leadership and strategy to complete all seven rooms, taking it in turns to be captain! Using PDF documents, slideshows, flash cards and games my husband and I have designed; the learners will have 35 minutes to complete the game, by working as a team, in escaping each room.
My teaching style for this class is very informal, allowing a healthy 'din'; I do however pull in the reins with a walkie-talkie if 'focus' is lost for a moment. All learners get to interact with myself and everyone in the class, so I do encourage support and discussion on how to get out of each room.
No knowledge or experience is needed for this class, just the willingness to fully participate with video on, a working headphones & microphone; along with an energetic and friendly temperament.
Learning Goals
The students will learn how to take turns, work together and how to make new friends.
The enthasis is not on reading, but the opportunity will be there to develop storytelling, spelling and problem solving.
They will also learn how to have fun in a structured environment.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a gamesmaster for over 30 years. As a teacher I have been making up games for my students and as a child I would think of them spontaneously. I look forward to passing this skill on to your learner.
