How does this virtual escape room work?

There are several parts to each escape room. Some have two parts, some three, and some four. Each part has a time limit and a task (such as figuring out a number code). If the tasks are not complete within their time limit, I will give students the answer, and we'll move on to the next part. The first 3 minutes of our session will be spent talking about class expectations and doing a small icebreaker. Then, the next 5 minutes will be spent going over what a virtual escape room is and how our escape room will work. Finally, we will spend the rest of the session on the actual Escape room :)

Note: I will guide the whole session. We will do the escape room together to avoid disorganization. However, I will not be helping students as much as guiding them through the process.
Learning Goals

Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Houston-Downtown
Hello! Thank you for considering me :)

My name is Stephanie.

My background:

I have a bachelor's degree in education from the university of Houston-Downtown in Texas, and a TEFL certification. I have been on Outschool for the past three years and worked with students ranging from 3-18 years of age. I used to work with two different ESL Companies, as well as a therapy clinic for children with autism and ADHD. I teach English, Spanish, and other topics that I am passionate about.

What I do:

I have specialized in the art of creating/running escape rooms. I enjoy tying these escape rooms with educational topics! They help students build their social skills, critical/logical thinking skills, and confidence. Plus, students get the opportunity to learn and talk about topics they love!

What I believe in:

I believe that encouragement, patience, and freedom of expression are essential in every classroom. It's no secret that students learn differently, and that education is the key to the future. So, I want to make sure every student is comfortable in class, has their needs met, and has an equal opportunity to speak/participate!

How I got into education:

My journey in becoming a teacher began when I was a lot younger and would babysit my neighbors' kids. I often helped them out with their homework assignments and slowly realized that I enjoyed doing so. I had always been told by my peers and my family that I should consider being a teacher but, I had never given it a second thought until my senior year of high school when I had a fantastic teacher who completely changed my life. From that moment, I was inspired to become a teacher and do the same for others.

I look forward to positively impacting your child :)

Some things I love:

• I love to read! (Some of my favorite books include Harry potter and Wings of fire)
• I love video games! (Especially Nintendo games!)
• My Favorite movie is "Encanto"

Thanks for reading, I am excited to see you in class!!!
