Basic Technique and Fundamentals: Develop a solid foundation in drumming by mastering proper hand and foot technique, stick control, posture, and understanding basic rhythm patterns.

Rhythmic Accuracy: Improve your ability to play rhythms accurately and precisely. Work on timing, subdivisions, and maintaining a consistent tempo.

Coordination and Independence: Enhance your coordination skills by practicing drumming patterns that require different limb movements simultaneously. Develop independence between your hands and feet to play complex rhythms.

Groove and Feel: Learn to create a strong, steady groove by focusing on dynamics, accents, and playing with a sense of feel. Explore different genres and styles to develop your own unique playing style.

Musicality and Creativity: Cultivate your musicality by experimenting with different drumming patterns, fills, and improvisation. Explore ways to express yourself and add your personal touch to the music.

Reading Drum Notation: Develop the ability to read drum notation and understand drumming symbols and terminology. This skill will allow you to learn new songs and communicate with other musicians effectively.

Performance Skills: Gain confidence in performing in front of others. Practice playing along with recorded music or in live settings to develop stage presence, communication with other musicians, and maintaining consistency during performances.

Collaborative Skills: Participate in group drumming exercises to improve your ability to play with others, follow cues, and contribute to a cohesive musical experience

Depending on the level of the student, exercises are modified so everyone has a positive drumming experience!

Over 20 years of professional experience playing and teaching. I have played in major orchestras throughout the the U.S. and abroad including the Boston Symphony, Atlanta Symphony and Malaysia Philharmonic . I have toured extensively with bands across the U.S. and abroad and had the privilege of playing with Stix, Art Garfunkel, Yo Yo MA and Andrea Bocelli to name a few. I have taught beginner to advanced college players. I have helped students successfully audition and be accepted to major Universities.
