We will look at shapes and discuss what we can turn the shapes into. Perhaps a triangle could be used with other shapes to make a snake or a duck. We could make a circle into a cookie or even a porcupine. It’s fun to use shapes to create things in our world. Examples will be presented to get the juices flowing. The teacher will also have 3-D shapes to show and objects to compare to the shapes to see how the learner can recreate it. Each learner will have many opportunities to share...
The learners will be aware of different shapes and how many things in our life represent these shapes.
For additional fun, create a picture out of shapes and upload it to the chat for your class friends and teacher to see.
Each learner is encouraged to bring paper and crayons (or any writing utensil). If you prefer and have one on hand, the learner could even use a white board with dry erase markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be an informal assessment checking comprehension in class through the learners’ participation.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
