Class Experience

In this class, students will learn basic drawing techniques and terminology to create their own unique piece of art each week. Students will learn how to use texturing, stippling, light & shadow and cross hatching to add effect and interest to each piece. Students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step to fine tune their skills and be given feedback. Students are encouraged to engage with the class and teacher by asking questions and sharing their progress. Students are encouraged to share their finished piece with the class via the classroom board. Recordings of the class will be available for students wishing to go over techniques and terminology again.

Week 1: Still Life Drawing Shadows
Week 2: Cross Hatching
Week 3: Pointillism (Stippling) 
Week 4: Drawing Texture

I am an illustrator, artist, teacher, business owner, and a pug mom. I have a degree in Illustration, a visual art minor with 20 years of teaching experience. I believe that knowledge is power and the more you know the greater your influence can be. Learning should be fun and individual. Even when my students are looking at the same picture for painting class, their work is very individual and unique to them and I love that part of the creative process.
