Learn to draw and paint a majestic orca in the water inspired by the artist Ted Harrison. No experience necessary! We will use pencil, crayon (or oil pastel), and watercolour to create these stunning paintings. We will also learn fun facts about orcas along the way! The class will consist of three main parts: sketching in pencil, colouring with crayon or oil pastel, and finally painting with watercolour! Ms. Emily will guide students step-by-step throughout the class and will show a close up view of her hands while she demonstrates each step. Hello Outschoolers! 👋
🎨 I am an artist and educator with more than 10 years of teaching experience and I LOVE teaching art!
👩🎓 I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and have taught a wide range of art classes over the years, including teaching art to individuals on the autism spectrum.
🦋 My specialities include drawing animals and nature, as well as painting with watercolour.
🌈✨ I always strive to teach fun and engaging classes while creating an inclusive environment that puts learners at ease. I like to sprinkle educational facts into each art class and allow lots of room for creativity. I don’t believe art should be stressful and strongly believe that having good art experiences can lead to greater self confidence and improved mental health.
👋 Hope to see you soon!
