We’ve all heard of unicorns but what do they look like in different cultures? Are they outgoing and energetic? are they graceful and independent? Do they have the body of a rhinoceros? In some stories, yes they do. Let’s gather to learn a little bit about unicorns across different cultures. In this class we will discuss what we know about unicorns, look at pictures and learn about different types of unicorns, hear a short story, and draw our very own version of a unicorn that we will share and discuss with the group. This class will be teacher led and will present information in Google Slides. I have designed this class with a lot of discussion to keep students engaged and interacting with one another. Introduction and discussion- 8 minutes -What do you know about unicorns? -Are there any unicorns in your favourite books, movies, or TV shows? Lesson on unicorn- 15 minutes -Look at pictures -Make predictions -Learn about different types of unicorns and where they came from Drawing and Discussion- 17 minutes -Draw your version of a unicorn -Share and talk about your unicorn with the rest of the group *Image by storyset on Freepik
