Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(175)
In this one-time class, students will play through a roleplaying focused D&D 5e adventure.

Class experience

Students will learn how to cooperate and work as a team to achieve a goal.
Students will learn critical thinking and problem solving skills as they try to negotiate peace between two groups of people in the game.
Students will learn key problem solving skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Students will be encouraged to explore creativity through performing or role playing as their character.
Required Materials : A 5th edition character levels 1-4 only, set of dice (1d4; 1d6; 1d8; 1d10; 1d100; 1d20), pencil, and scrap paper. If you do not have dice, there are plenty of free apps you can use if you do not wish to buy a set. Otherwise, sets can be purchased easily through Amazon or comic book/board game stores.

It is recommended that the student has a basic understanding of the game, but it is not required as I can teach them as we go along. If this is your child's first introduction to the game, then I would recommend at least reading the Basic Rules. I have also provided links to some free materials including the Essential Rule Book.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Dungeons and Dragons inherently includes fantasy violence. Students will be fighting monsters, but I will never encourage students to enact that violence towards other persons in game.
