Science dissection vocabulary Safe dissection practices Anatomy of several species
I am a 4-H Agent who has taught this as a summer camp for several years. I have a Master's degree in animal science. We will have a veterinary student as our guest speaker for some sessions.
Homework: Follow along video to dissect the specimen. Turn in vocabulary definitions weekly.
Each student will need the following dissection kit: https://www.homesciencetools.com/search?search_query=dissectin#/q:dissection
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All assignment turned in: A 1 letter grade drop for each missing assignment.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be dissecting preserved animals. Some students might find this distasteful. Parents should MONITOR their students during the dissection as the students will be using a scalpel.
