Class Experience

This class provides a way for students to have fun and engaging open ended play filled with fine motor skills by playing with play doh. We will engage in classroom discussions, have in class creative time, and have a chance to share their creations. 

Before class, have your student decide on a toy or item to share with the class that relates to the topic and bring it to class. At the beginning of class students will introduce themselves and share their item. Next, students will be presented with the weekly challenge (listed below), given time to brainstorm, have creative time to work on their masterpiece, use conversational skills, all while working on their fine motor skills. 

What you can expect in class:
Greetings, introduction to the challenge, discussion on the topic, time to create and be artists, followed with a show and share. 

During class I will lead and facilitate the conversation by giving the challenge, asking questions about the topic, offering feedback or suggestions, encouraging students to ask each other questions by modeling this.  I will help students use descriptive words to help share their creations with the class. 

The goal of this class is to socialize and spend time building a new creation together, make new friends, and of course - have fun!

- story telling to narrate their creation, and -public speaking skills to present their project to the class.

I am a boy mom to 3 creative guys that really enjoy being creative. There’s not a day that goes by that we aren’t creatively  playing. I have also taught for over 10 years, with the last 5 being PreK, this age is one of my favorites to work with because they are always willing to try and give their best effort. I love to see the creative ideas kids can come up with!
