Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students who enroll in this class should have a general interest in writing or a desire to be inspired (either for traditional classroom requirements or personal writing at home). We usually begin class with a short warm up. The intent is to help students get comfortable with the environment and get into a creative mindset. The goal of this class is two fold: (1) to encourage and build confidence in students, and (2) offer creative resources and teach students to use the world around them to write engaging and imaginative pieces.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Media Communication with an emphasis in storytelling. Shortly thereafter, I taught creative writing to students (6th-8th graders) for two years.
Students should be prepared with a pencil/pen and notebook or computer program to write their work (Microsoft Word, Pages, Notes, etc.).
