Cactus plants are some of the most unique plants on earth! There are many different varieties and they're so beautiful. In this class we will learn how to draw and watercolor different cactus plants, showing off your student's creativity.
Class experience
What exactly is a cactus plant? First we will get to know our cactus. Students will learn where the cactus grows, what colors they have, and how long they live for. They will understand the characteristics of the cactus plant so that they can identify it wherever they go. Then they will see that cactus plants come in several shapes and sizes. They will choose their favorite type of cactus and learn how to draw that type. The class will end with a short presentation of each student’s...
Students will learn basic watercolor techniques, fun facts about cactus, and imaginative art techniques. The goal of this class is for your young artist to become more confident in their painting abilities and have creative freedom with their art.
Art supplies required: watercolor paper*, pencil, paint brushes, water color palette, 1 or more cups of clean water, paper towel. *Please note that regular sheet paper will not work for this activity.
