Students will learn the basics of butterfly anatomy, and use their imagination to create their artwork. There are no limits - as few or as many art materials can be used, according to what families have available, and the creative choices the children make.
I have worked as a kindergarten and primary school teacher in China. Last year my previous school held an event "Close to Nature" which allowed students to explore a city park in Beijing and look for plants, flowers and butterflies. Materials: safety scissors for kids, sellotape, glue sticks, coloured paper, pens and pencils, sequins, (or any other materials desired to embellish the butterfly), pipe cleaners.
