US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
"What topics will I cover?" I will learn about YOUR child and find out their interests so that I can integrate that into their education of learning English-that's the beauty of one-on-one lessons! I get to tailor-make the class, design it just for YOUR child and this makes me so excited (can you tell?!) I also will see if they need more concentration on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, speaking in a conversation using proper grammar, reading, writing, and then if necessary, I'll spend more time on that particular thing, though I will teach all Conversation and communication to test student's level. Conversation to find out student's interests so I can tailor-make the class for that student (if they like butterflies, we'll do activities regarding butterflies for part of the class one day as an example) Building vocabulary, no matter student's current level. Improving grammar no matter student's level. Improve pronunciation so the student will feel more comfortable being understood when speaking English. Structure of class: After learning student's level and interest, we will do worksheets, practice conversation, use flashcards and more to educate and entertain. We'll review what was learned during the class. By the end of the camp, the student and parent will have a clear assessment of improvement. Teacher Amy's style is part very structured, serious education with the other half of class more silly, laid-back but still educational extra activities. A variety of activities based on student's interest, age, level will be provided. Bottom line is the child is to to not only get a solid education in English but also feel excited and good about themselves and what they are learning. You may take more than one camp. Since it is private, one on one, I design the class with your child in mind and will pick up where we left off at the end of the last camp. The student will get non-stop interaction with me. No prior English is necessary. Teacher Amy will use TPR (Total Physical Response) only if necessary. I sometimes create Kahoot (an approved outside platform) quizzes to help the student learn in a fun way. There is no need for the parent to have an account, nor does the student ever log in without me.
Learning Goals
The learning goal is to see from the first day of camp to the last, what the child has improved upon in their English and to feel encouraged and excited about themselves and their abilities, whether that is having added to their vocabulary, made them more comfortable speaking English, speaking in complete sentences using proper grammar, reading, comprehension of what they have read, etc.
