I am happy to introduce your learner to the beautiful art form of quilling! This is a one-time class to introduce students to the basic quilling shapes and how to make a butterfly. The six basic quilling shapes that will be taught in this class are tight coil, loose coil, open coil, marquis, shaped marquis, and teardrop.

This is a relaxing form of art and students will take pride in their finished piece.
When I learned this art form in the 1990's, my school did not have any of the fancy quilling tools. We used construction paper and pencils for curling the paper. True quilling tools may be used, but are not required for this beginner class. Also, no prior knowledge or experience of quilling is required, however, I do suggest that your learner take the cloud and flower quilling classes before taking this one.

*Do you like this class, but you don't see a time that works for your learner? Check out my Quilling FLEX class! https://outschool.com/classes/quilling-for-tweens-and-teens-arts-and-crafts-ages-11-15-p8k7QxHc?usid=rJGDxx4j&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link

Learner Supply List:
quilling or construction paper in several colors
glue
scissors
pencil

*Please watch this 3 minute video before your first quilling class with me. Thank you! https://youtu.be/WooUWTRBHxs

If your learner has quilling tools, that is great, but again it's not required for this class!

If you do decide to order your learner a quilling tool set, I would like to suggest this one that I purchased from Amazon for around $17.

Hello from the U.S.A.! Specializing in Quilling and Science classes, I offer a variety of one-time, multi-day, and ongoing classes. Graduating college with a degree in Early Childhood Education has allowed me to teach children, ages 4-12. My master's is in Counseling. I believe that the combination of my bachelor's and master's work, as well as my soft skills make me a patient, kind, and loving teacher.

The emotional well-being of students always comes first. I strive to give my learners an atmosphere where learning feels comfortable and never stressful. My experience as a mother of three has taught me much about how children learn best. I strive to provide exactly that perfect learning atmosphere in my online classes.

My strength areas are:

-Cross-Cultural Communication:
Having lived and traveled extensively abroad, I enjoy meeting and teaching students all over the world!

-S.T.E.A.M.:
I'm very passionate about S.T.E.A.M. education, especially Science and Art! These subjects are incorporated often into my classes.

-Scaffolding:
I constantly evaluate the progress of my students and adjust my teaching to meet their needs.

-Student Encouragement:
Celebrating wins with students is my delight! I want them to know that I am happy to help them learn and I want them to succeed!

My hobbies include kayaking, swimming, and quilling paper art. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family at Lake Hartwell, Georgia, U.S.A., where I live with my husband, three children, and our bordoodle Princess. I hope to teach your learner soon!
