Class Experience

In today’s class your learner will learn 2D shape formations and names through playdough play time.

These shapes include square, triangle, circle, oval, diamond, etc.

The teacher will lead the class by introducing herself and having the children introduce each other. We will build a few shapes together and talk about them. The learners then will be able to build a few on their own. Talk about what they see, how they created it and get to share their shape with others.

I will check in with each and every learner making sure they each have a turn to ask questions, answer questions, share, chat and explore on their own.

I teach mostly through play, talking, hands on experience. I want the learners to have fun and enjoy the experience.

WHY PLAY DOUGH?? Playing with play dough helps develop cognitive skills, social and emotional skills and even language and communication skills. Play dough also develops fine motor skills. The acts of squishing, rolling, flattening, etc.. help children develop muscles used in their hands for fine motor movements useful in the future, such as holding a pencil or using scissors. So even though they think they are playing and having fun.. they are learning and preparing for the future!!

No experience required.
