Class Experience

Welcome bakers & kitchen creators! I'm so glad you are here and I can't wait to share this class with you as we combine pizza dough with a variety of fun, innovative and creative recipes.

In this interactive class students will be guided step by step in creating their very own bakes using pre-prepared pizza dough. As an avid baker I will lead students by giving examples and inspiration for their weekly use of pizza dough. Using easy to follow prompts, students will find their confidence in baking by learning how to create with pizza dough while also learning about kitchen safety, proper utensils/tools and baking design.

Students are asked to come to class with already prepared pizza dough. This can be purchased at a store, prepared with a mix or made using a bread maker. This will allow bakers to get started right away without having to wait for dough to rise or proof. As this is a baking class, parents should be aware of possible allergens or ingredients that might be questionable for their family. Students that have allergies to gluten, flour or dairy are able to prepare their own dough according to their needs. In addition, please note that although this class is just for students, parents should be accessible in order to assist with the use of the oven or kitchen utensils. Safety is always a priority in class!

Please see the class ingredients list to ensure your student is prepared. * Note: Class will end when our bread is placed in the oven. Students/families will be given directions in order to know when their bread is done and are encouraged to share final photos/feedback about class afterward. The majority of class time will be spent learning about our bake, how to prepare our dough, prepping our ingredients, sharing inspiration and examples and creating our bakes together. Baking time will take place once class has adjourned.

* Note: Weekly recipes will be shared on the class page so that students can recreate their favorite recipes outside of class as well. I encourage each student to keep a folder of recipes that will grow each and every week!

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a mother of three and someone that has fond memories of my grandmother's kitchen and homemade buttermilk biscuits, it's no surprise that I love cooking and baking. My favorite things to bake consist of breads, desserts and both sweet and savory pastries and bakes. On the weekends I'm always trying new recipes and most of all, I love being creative and trusting myself when it comes to substitutions and trying something new. What's the worst that can happen? They're just ingredients. Have fun!
