Do you ever try to guess the number-one song or movie during a countdown? Sometimes it turns out to be the one you want; sometimes it doesn't. But let’s see how you do when we have a countdown of the top ten ancient Egyptian inventions.
Some of the inventions you'll be familiar with as you’ve heard about them before. About others, you'll ask yourself: “The ancient Egyptians invented THAT?” Yes, there...- 1. Students will learn that the the ancient Egyptians invented so many things because they were were among the first truly complex, settled civilizations in the world. 2. Learners will also discover how archaeologists and historians determine the nature of a true invention and why some inventions seemingly evolve around the world at the same time. 3. We will also decide what makes one invention more influential than another.
I hold a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University and a Diploma in Egyptology from Oxford College in England. And I’ve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours. I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was 10 years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I hope to see you soon for a class. Frequency: includedDetails: There is no formal assessment, but I will make sure that kids understand the ramifications of all the inventions we talk about before the class ends.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will be encouraged to look at and do their own sequential listing of various inventions that will be discussed in class. This will be in the form of a file to be downloaded and worked on before class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no sensitive material, except that ancient Egyptian paintings and statues do show male and female nudity.
There will be images from numerous websites on ancient Egyptian inventions.
