Converting Units of Measurements in Easy Steps

Students will use a Conversion Chart that shows length, volume and capacity and weight and mass. Students will first explore this chart and identify where each unit of measurement can be found. We will then take notes on a strategy used to convert within a measurement system. Students will apply this strategy to some skill problems. Once students have shown comprehension of applying the strategy to each problem they will move on to working on conversion word problems. We will identify the key words in the word problem and then apply the conversion strategy to solve. Students will leave the class with notes to use in the future.

Mass and Weight
