US Grade 2
The focus of this class will be on the thinking skills needed to comprehend what is being read. I keep the class limited to 3 students so that everyone gets a chance to participate and I can monitor progress and modify as needed. Students read, with permission from Reading A-Z, a short book or text on the screen. I introduce vocabulary as needed before we start the reading. Students will be about to read a text, retell the information, determine the main idea and supporting details, compare and contrast, summarize and retell the story. Additionally, the will be able to read and answer comprehension questions about the text.
