Class Experience

This inclusive class is designed for young learners: nursery, preschool, and kindergarteners. As a speech-language pathologist, I embed language-learning and early social skills within play, movement, music, and books.

In this class, we will learn all about SHAPES! For children who already know their shapes, learners will get to practice and enhance their skills while participating in a fun scavenger hunt and interactive song/book. For children who do not yet know their shapes, this would be a great introductory class for shapes. This would also be a great class for learners who are new to online classes. Our class routine will look like this:

*Greetings - Each student will be greeted by their name
*Shapes Song
*Shapes Scavenger Hunt - Learners will find shapes around their homes to show the teacher and their peers.
*Book (Mouse Shapes, by Ellen Stoll Walsh)
*Shapes Activity (depending on time -- learners will create an item using shapes around their room)
*Goodbye Song

**Please allow some space around your child for movement within class time. In addition, please have items around your child in a variety of shapes! Here are some ideas (but other items are encouraged/welcomed):

-circle - an orange, a ball, a clock
-square - stacking blocks, a cube, a square container
-rectangle - stacking blocks, a book, a cereal box
-triangle - a slice of pizza (toy), a slice of cheese (toy)

**If your child has shape toys, such as magnetic tiles, building blocks, wooden beads, etc., feel free to bring them to class as we read about each shape! If they do not have these shapes, please bring some paper and crayons so they can draw their own!

Please reach out if you have any questions. I am excited to meet your child in class!
