In this one-time class, costumed learner will have a Waldorf-inspired celebration of Halloween, socializing while decorating pumpkins and ending with a spooky story.
Class experience
BYOP-- Bring Your Own Pumpkin! We're having a pumpkin decorating party and celebrating Halloween together. We'll discuss Halloween family traditions as we decorate our own pumpkins with materials from home, and we'll end with a Halloween story about a little Hobgoblin, created by me. The main goal of this class is to explore how families celebrate Halloween while socializing with other learners and engaging in a creative activity.
Annette has written the Waldorf-inspired blog Seasons of Joy for almost 20 years and also wrote the curriculum guides Seasons of Joy, inspired by Steiner/Waldorf method of education.
Please bring a pumpkin-- any size you want-- and all art materials you wish to use for decorating it. NO KNIVES OR SHARP OBJECTS, please. Be creative in your decorating, but we will not be cutting the pumpkins, only decorating the outsides. Also please see the class description for costume guidelines.
This class is not suitable for families that do not celebrate Halloween or are uncomfortable discussing Halloween origins. Learners will be working with art materials.
