**Lesson Structure:** 1. Warm-Up & Introduce "Something" of the Day (10 minutes): Objective: Help students feel comfortable and engaged. Activity: Begin with introductions and greetings. Each student shares their name and something personal, such as a favorite activity or a highlight from their day (e.g., "My name is Elsa, and I love pizza"). Students also introduce a toy they have brought that relates to the class topic. 2. Core Activity (15 minutes): Objective: Practice new vocabulary in context with guidance. Activity: Engage students in discussions using picture cards or online books. Use open-ended questions to encourage deeper responses and critical thinking (e.g., "What do you think happens next?" "What's the weather like?" "Where are they going?" "Why is he annoyed?" "Whose birthday is it?"). 3. Cool Down (5 minutes): Objective: Facilitate spontaneous interactions and reflection. Activity: Ask random questions, such as “What’s your favorite number and why?” or “What’s your favorite insect and why?” ***Classes with only one learner will NOT be canceled.*** A. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone,
Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Michelle, and I'm so excited to join the Outschool community! Although I am originally from South Korea, I was born and raised in the US, Switzerland, and Dubai (UAE). I began teaching in 2008 when I volunteered at international schools and colleges in Mongolia and Indonesia, teaching introductory courses in marketing, management, and ESL English. The experience was incredible, and the students were absolutely amazing.
Since 2017, I have taught at international schools in South Korea, working with students aged four to sixteen. My teaching subjects include English, Science, Social Studies, and Geography. My two core teaching philosophies are:
1) Valuing each student’s learning style: I prioritize patience and understanding of each individual's culture and learning progress, making each student feel valued, and fostering a supportive community in our classroom.
2) Making learning a fun journey: I love what I do, and I am passionate about finding the best ways to support each child's learning needs. Building rapport with my students helps create a joyful and engaging learning experience.
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting some of you young learners soon! 😍
