C'est Moi: Learn to Talk About Yourself in French. Learn naturally and have simple conversations with Teacher Liz. Students will... -Understand and use basic high-frequency French words. -Review French primary skills: numbers, letters, colors, animals, and more. -Converse with fellow students and teacher each meeting. This is the second course of my French conversational language sequence. I highly suggest students new to French speaking enroll firstly in my "Hello, Bonjour" course OR I prefer students already have a base experience with French language. This course will equip your child with basic linguistic tools for your next French adventure. I am a joyful, musical Francophone excited to explore the French lifestyle with you. Let's celebrate how our brains learn languages by making class fun, entertaining, and memorable. We will connect over humor and art, learning primary French vocabulary. We will play games. We will sing songs. This course is interactive. There will be times for call-and-response, repeated phrases, authentic dialogue, and more fun. Teacher talk is ideally comprised of 50% English and 50% French to prepare the young ear for language learning and meaningful application. This may vary with the skill level of each individual and group. Child output will be primarily French. We are merely celebrating the language and preparing the brain for more structured language study in the future. Making smiles and laughter is my favorite thing to do. I enjoy working with children who are invested in their learning and committed to kindness.
Growing up I was quick to tell stories with puppets, toys, siblings, music, and comedy. As an adult I have found a way to combine all this fun by being a remote, online teacher! My classes are joyous, interactive, expressive, and energetic.
My specialties lie in public speaking, singing, performance, music, ESL, and literacy. I have four years experience as an elementary school classroom teacher. I am currently a music coach and lead singer of a Portland, Oregon-based Blondie tribute band, Glass of Hearts. I acquired my Masters Degree of Education from Portland State University. I am an active and enthusiastic member of the Portland Reading Council & the Oregon State Literacy Association.
