Beginner - Advanced Level
In these private sessions, pupils will have the opportunity to: a) Either learn the language from scratch or b) Sharpen their skills in a particular aspect of the language I may focus on the US Curriculum (AERO Standards), British National Curriculum (AQA/EDEXCEL exam boards), Australian Curriculum or tailor my approach to individual learning goals (for example, if you just want to learn the basics for a future trip to France or Russia). I enjoy sharing the culture of the country, so there will be fun facts and stories, as well as important aspects of culture embedded in the learning. The overall aim of these private sessions is to allow the students to become more comfortable, confident and independent in their use of the language, developing fluency, accuracy, ease and depth in reading, writing, listening and speaking. We will make sure to diagnose and work on the weaker points together with the student, at a pace tailored to the individual. My teaching is based on interaction, games, creativity and immersion, without being overwhelming. We frequently revisit the covered material, go through informal assessments and create projects that make languages and cultures more relatable. Be it filming a short, creating a French cooking instagram account, painting and describing people or watching football in the original language- students are immersed in authentic and creative material and tasks. These lessons are intense, but fun, as pupils are encouraged to cover and practice the material on a deeper level and engage with the language. If the level and individual circumstances permit, communication will be mainly in the target language. All students will be receiving extra materials and resources to be able to practice and review themselves at home.
Learning Goals
Highly-tailored individual learning/improvement of the language.
